Sir Wylie McKissock, O.B.E.

McKissock research fellowship

Wylie McKissock (27/10/1906 – 3/5/1994) was a British neurosurgeon. He set up the neurosurgery unit at Atkinson Morley Hospital and was president of the Society of British Neurological Surgeons. 

The Neurosciences Research Foundation has funded several neurosurgical residents through its prestigious McKissock research fellowships. These residents are based at Atkinson Morley Wing, St George’s Hospital and carry out clinical neurosurgery research leading to the award of the PhD degree from St. George's, University of London.
